One Week Before

It’s the week before Thanksgiving and I’ve gotta be honest... I started listening to Christmas music the day after Halloween. My laptop is next to me in bed just waiting for me to start writing again. Bowl of popcorn at hand, bottle of wine already half empty, and “White Christmas” on tv. My family all make fun of my love for the holidays but it’s such a cheerful time of year. They even dedicate a channel to 24/7 Christmas movies for weeks at a time. You know which channel I’m talking about….

Today, I plan to stay in bed and do nothing but binge Christmas movies. Bing Crosby can croon to me one minute and the next, I can watch a little kid defeat house robbers.

Just as I was getting good and comfy in my nest, the doorbell rings. The dog leapt off the bed upsetting my bowl of popcorn. Bark Bark Bark.
